Hello,

I have the following code in my application:

Code:
var bImageDownloaded = frmPrint.DynamicWebTwain1.HTTPDownload(hostIP, strFilePath);

When attempting to download some files, the bImageDownloaded variable is false. However, when i then try to read the ErrorCode and/or ErrorString properties through Visual Studio (Quick Watch) i get the message: 'Unable to evaluate the expression.'

The affected files were not created via DWT so i am assuming that this is the cause of the problem? Is there any chance that this could be reflected in the ErrorString?

Thanks,
Martyn...

Hi Martyn,

Currently, we only guarantee that images created by Dynamic Web TWAIN can be loaded into the control correctly. To verify this is the cause of the problem, you can send the related images to twainsupport@dynamsoft.com and we will check them for you.

Best.

Hi,

I'm pretty sure that this is the cause of the problem as i have reproduced with a variety of different files. All the files that work were created via DWT.

I am happy with this and have handled it through our application, however, what i was wondering was whether this could be handled better by DWT. Currently the object is not usable and therefore causes an exception. It would be better if the control handled the error and returned a string to such effect, ie: 'The image could not be loaded. This may be due to it not being created via Dynamic Web Twain etc...'

Just a thought,

Thanks,
Martyn...

Hi Martyn,

Thank you for the update. Your proposition is highly appreciated. We have relayed the proposition to our R&D team for future consideration.

Also, we provide a simple image tool with which you can load and resave the images so that the processed images can be loaded into Dynamic Web TWAIN. You can download the tool here:
http://www.dynamsoft.com/download/Suppo ... 100716.zip

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.

Best regards.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me and passing on the suggestion. I have downloaded the tool and will try it when i get chance. Now that this tool exists, are there any plans to include it in the DWT control, ie: as part of the HTTPDownload method, the file could be "converted" so it is suitable to be shown in the viewer?

Thanks,
Martyn...

Hi Martyn,

The Image Tool was developed using Dynamic .NET TWAIN, another product of Dynamsoft, which uses a different mechanism to support more images formats.

Our R&D team will consider adding support for more image formats in Dynamic Web TWAIN in future.

Thanks.
