Hello,

Our web-based dental software currently uses a licensed version of the Dynamic Web TWAIN Plugin for Imaging functions.

One of our clients was trying to use it with a Sirona Dental Systems Orthophos XGPLUS Xray camera/scanner (http://www.sirona.com/ecomaXL/index.php ... hos_xgplus) which is TWAIN compliant, but for some reason it is just not being detected at all (other twain devices are, so I know its not the machine itself). The scanner is also accessible from other TWAIN based applications, so I can say for certain that the TWAIN driver/functionality of the scanner itself is working.

Would you have any idea why it might not being detected by the plugin? What locations/folders/files does the plugin look at or search for in order to detect the attached scanners? My concern is that the drivers for this scanner might not be in the proper location for the plugin to detect it.

Also, this scanner is connect on the LAN side; Meaning it has an Ethernet connection and it plugged into the same router and configure with the same workgroup as the machine trying to access it.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi,

Dynamic Web TWAIN works with all TWAIN compliant devices. Thus, it is OK if a device is connected via Ethernet. Although Sirona Dental Systems Orthophos XGPLUS Xray camera is stated as TWAIN compliant, please double check the driver with Twack, which is developed by the TWAIN working group, to confirm whether it is FULLY TWAIN compatible.
http://twain.org/docs/Twack_32.msi

The driver of the device should be located at a sub-folder of C:\Windows\twain_32. If the device works well with Twack, please copy the dlls in the sub-folder, paste them to C:\Windows\System32 (or C:\Windows\SysWOW64 on a 64-bit OS) and try with Dynamic Web TWAIN again to see how it works.

Please keep us updated on this issue.
