Hello,

I am trying to run the C# ScanToFile sample, but I am getting this error:

XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/.../SaveToFile/Scan.aspx
Line Number 1, Column 2:
<%@ Page language="c#" AutoEventWireup="false" Debug="True"%>

error occurs in firefox 4 and 5, and IE8.

Is there a change which needs to occur?

Was also wondering if there is any type of sample out there with a master/content enviroment. I am trying to use the evaluation liscense to see if this could work in our current project. The function runs, but does not interact with scanner. The demo performs correctly.

Hi JayGalway,

It sounds like you are just browsing to the file, rather than going through http://localhost/<path>/Scan.aspx. Please put the web pages to your web server, such as IIS, or use the build-in web server of Visual Studio, and then try running the application again.

Would you please be more specific about this? Did you get any error message?

Thank you for the pointer. I am somewhat new to the web stuff.

I figured out what was going on with the functionality on my own test sample, and have a recommendation for your samples possibly.

change the input tag to

<asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server" Text="Scan" OnClientClick="return btnScan_onclick();" UseSubmitBehavior="false" />

The usesubmitbehavior would be a quick insight for other beginners as it changes the rendering of the button type.

Thank you again for your help, and hope I have been some help in return.
